NYCN PASS VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE ON ABEOKUTA SOUTH LEGISLATIVE REPRESENTATIVES.

National Youth Council of Nigeria, Abeokuta South Local Government Branch, NYCN, through a statement made available and signed by the Deputy Coordinator II. Comrade Afolabi Oludaisi, has passed a vote of no confidence on the Three Legislative Representative Members.

Hon. Lanre Edun (Federal House of Representative Member)

Hon. Yusuf Temitope Adejojo(Ogun State House of Assembly Members, Abeokuta South Constituency 1)

Hon. Adeyemi Ademuyiwa (Ogun State House of Assembly Members, Abeokuta South Constituency 2)

Over what they called their “ineptitude to carry out their constitutional responsibilities on youth in their local government.

While berating the lackadaisical attitude of the Honourables towards the development of the youth and their insensitivity and inattentiveness to the pains and demands of Nigerian youths and good people of Abeokuta South Local Government, the Council called for instantaneous declaration of Vacancy on the legislative seats, saying “we can no longer condone their ineffectiveness and lack of putting interest of youth in their hearts. where upon we pass a VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE on them.

We totally condemn Federal House of Representative Member representing Abeokuta South Federal Constituency, Hon. Lanre Edun over his lukewarm attitude to the plight of the Nigerian youths. “As a former Local Government Chairman, we expect Hon. Lanre Edun to use his good office to press and give sense of belonging to Nigerian youth in the local government.

Since the beginning of their stay in office, the legislators have focus mainly on their party members and abandoned the majority of youths in the local government that voted for them.

Covid-19 pandemic has helped youths and good people of Abeokuta South Local Government to fully know the kind of uncaring and selfish legislators we have. For a month now and still counting that Ogun State has been in total lockdown to fight Corona Virus, many people have been denied access to their businesses, especially youths that are surviving on their daily profit made on their businesses. Aged and vulnerables are helpless and this hard time led to many private organizations and political leaders intervention in orientating the masses on the deadly pandemic and giving succor to the vulnerable and unemployed youth in different local government. But in this our So called representatives are no where to be found.

While Ogun State Government, ably led by His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun have been working across the state to put necessary measures to reduce the spread of Covid-19. Also given out palliative relief packages to vulnerable and aged people in the State. His Excellency also shows is helping hand to youths through the State Chapter of the council. This is because the Ogun State Government in her good heart knows that majority of the youths in the state survive on their daily hustling.

The Senator representing Ogun Central Senatorial District, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun also identify with State Chapter of the Council by giving out relief packages to youths. Abeokuta South Legislative honourables both at federal house of Representative and Ogun State House of Assembly has neglected the youths in their local government. They have also failed to identify with the umbrella body of youth (National Youth Council of Nigeria) in their local government.

Working by a popular qoute "Our Life's Begin to End.... When Keeping Silent to what matters to Us". The NYCN Abeokuta South Local Government, With matter of urgency call for Vacancy in the positions of the following legislatives;

* Hon. Lanre Edun. Federal House of Representative Member.

*. Hon. Yusuf Temitope Adejojo. Ogun State House of Assembly Member (Abeokuta South Constituency 1)

*  Hon. Adeyemi Ademuyiwa. Ogun State House of Assembly Member (Abeokuta South Constituency 2)

For their incompetency, negligense to COVID-19 effect in their costituency,  poor leadership style and failure in their responsibilities to their constituency even in this hard time.
